Our story began not with property management, but with a foundational commitment to service that started long before most modern companies even existed. In 1907, my grandfather, James Greensides, with the tireless support of my grandmother, Norma, began hauling baggage from the bustling Rio Grande Train Station. This humble beginning soon blossomed into Sugar House Transfer, a widely respected local and long-distance moving and storage service. James and Norma instilled values of hard work, reliability, and genuine customer care – values that have been passed down through every generation.

 

Their two sons joined, and the business continued to thrive and adapt. My father, David Greensides, further diversified our family's enterprise. In the 1960s, he started offering records storage. The 1980s saw the addition of our first paper shredder, always seeking to meet evolving needs. Then, in the 2000s, a pivotal shift occurred: David added not just three self-storage facilities and two portable storage options, but also more than half a dozen rental properties. This was our family’s first direct foray into real estate investment and management, learning the ropes firsthand and experiencing the challenges and rewards of property ownership from the ground up.

As the world changed, so did we. Our family is no longer involved in the moving, records storage, or shredding businesses. Our focus has sharpened, centering entirely on real estate services, built on the foundation of managing our own properties for decades. Our property management division has grown significantly, serving a diverse portfolio of properties across the Salt Lake Valley.

 

To clearly communicate this specialized expertise and the comprehensive property management options we offer, we decided to operate this department under a distinct, service-specific name: We Rent Them Property Management.
